PPM, in partnership with Mr. Thong Dara, founder of Sabay and Evaan Market in France, has recently donated 500 essential medical kits to Cambodian refugees in Preah Vihear province, demonstrating effective and compassionate mobilization amid the border crisis. This humanitarian operation was accompanied by additional donations from France: school supplies and material aid for thousands of families distributed across several pagodas, highlighting the scale and diversity of the outreach.
The distributed medicines include PANOL® 250 MG/5ML pain relief syrup, SEPTYL® mouthwash, and the antiparasitic treatment ALBENTOX®, addressing the urgent health needs of displaced populations. These gifts are part of a coordinated relief effort by Mr. Dara, already recognized for his ability to rally resources and support from France. By gathering funds and donations through an online contribution campaign, he was able to deliver assistance to over 3,500 families living under extremely precarious conditions, notably at Svay Lue Pagoda, Rohal, Wat Por 5000 Daem, and Trava Kiet.
Thong Dara, an engaged French-Cambodian entrepreneur, stands out through the creation of multiple initiatives that strengthen the links between the Asian diaspora in France and Southeast Asia, especially Cambodia.
In 2019, he founded Evaan Market, which is much more than a simple online store. This marketplace offers original and traditional products from Southeast Asia, with special emphasis on Cambodian items. Evaan Market seeks to promote culture, craftsmanship, creators, and small business owners from the region, while fostering an environment of responsible and solidarity-driven trade.
Prior to Evaan Market, Thong Dara launched the “Sabay” movement in 2017, first as a ready-to-wear collection blending ancestral traditions and urban style, then expanding as a platform for solidarity and cultural initiatives. Sabay contributes to spreading Cambodian and Asian identity to younger generations, especially in France, raising awareness around responsible and creative fashion.
